【台灣醒報記者張振鴻綜合報導】使用低耗能E-Ink（電子墨水）電子紙螢幕作為馬路的交通指示牌，環保又節能。澳洲雪梨近日馬路上新架設了採用電子墨水技術做成螢幕的交通指示牌，可提供路況和停車等交通資訊，由於採用太陽能供電，幾乎不消耗額外的電力，將為雪梨省下大筆的指示牌更換經費。

【電子墨水低耗能】 電子墨水技術具有超低耗電量的特點，目前廣泛運用在電子書閱讀器上，也有不少智慧手錶採用它作為錶面螢幕，或者是智慧手機的第2螢幕。科技新聞網站《Digital Trends》報導，雪梨政府近日與電子墨水開發商Visionect合作，安裝了15組以電子墨水為螢幕的交通指示牌，以節省頻繁更換的成本。

這15組交通指示牌由於使用電子墨水，因此在陽光下能看得非常清楚，在夜晚時則會啟動內建的照明燈光。Visionect表示，這些指示牌不只方便閱讀，也隨時經由3G網路與政府的中央伺服器連線，可遠端更新當下的交通資訊，提供駕駛人即時的交通路況、停車空位和拖吊資訊等。

另外，交通指示牌也採用太陽能供電技術，就算城市或該區域停電，也無損它的功能。Visionect還說，交通指示牌經由伺服器的管理，除了在改變資訊的過程中，需要消耗少量的電力外，其餘時間這些指示牌是幾乎不消耗任何能量。而且指示牌上還裝有定位系統，以防遭人破壞或盜取。

【活動多免換指示牌】 雪梨常因為特殊的節日或活動，而改變道路停車或駕駛規定，因此原本需要靠人力將路邊一支支指示牌換掉，不只耗費大量的人力成本，指示牌的製造成本也不在話下。但雪梨政府人員指出，在與Visionect合作架設採用電子墨水的交通指示牌後，將可替雪梨省下大筆的人事成本。

這15支交通指示牌目前架設在雪梨的中央商務區，因應當地足球比賽或音樂會等大型活動，提供給駕駛人即時的交通資訊。雪梨政府人員表示，只要這批交通指示牌測試反應良好，將會考慮擴展到其他市區。
